Hobart 140 Spool Gun - My impression was that to mig weld aluminum i needed a spool gun but hobart doesn't sell one compatible with the 140. Can i simply change out the spool for aluminum and run with pure. Aluminum absorbs/dissipates heat readily. No way will a 140 work. I tried my hh140 without a spoolgun and it worked quite well on 1/8 aluminum. I did preheat and got good results using. The hobart 140/135 did not come with spool gun ready. That is the one thing i wish it did.
